Here's the info so far [June 5, '08]
- All 16 castaways have now been chosen (among 12,000): 8 of them from
the national auditions, 8 of them from "recruitments."
- Due to a typhoon, the Baguio City auditions scored the fewest auditionees (1,500)
- Extra Challenge host Paolo Bediones is the host (but then, the world already knows that). Ethel Booba will not be joining him.
- A guy named "Mustafa" is most likely one of the sixteen.
- Uncle Cameraman syndrome: filming is on Koh Tarutao beach in Thailand.
- Survivor Philippines will be shown on a DAILY BASIS.

Audition Test:
There are 3 rooms that each auditionee will pass through:
- ROOM1 - PAUTAKAN - It's a 25-items Abstract Reasoning Quiz that you need to answer within 2 minutes.
- ROOM2 - PAGALINGAN - It's a test of Strength and Endurance with a time duration of 5 to 10 minutes.
- ROOM3 - PATATAGAN - This is the panel interview ala Tribal Council. Beware for some tricky questions. Time frame: 2 MINUTES!
NOTE: Our informant added that the audition maybe was not comfortable for some. No chairs, tables for them to write in - most of them went on the floor or walls writing.

Re: Survivor: Philippines General Discussion
I found this article about Survivor:Philippines
You can read the full article HERE.
I just highlight the most important things:
1. "May napili na kami, somewhere in South Asia.
3. Nakatutok sa kanila ang eight big cameras and many handycams kaya mare-record ang lahat ng gagawin nila.
Kung mayroong mae-eliminate, by batch sila uuwi. Mauunang uuwi yung first six castaways na mae-evict."
After two weeks, saka pa lang susunod ang napiling 16 castaways.
I'll come to translate.

Re: Survivor: Philippines General Discussion
From the official website of the television station that will be producing Survivor: Philippines, here is an article about an interview of Jeff Probst.
Jeff Probst On Survivor Philippines
“The best thing to do is to be your self. And let your natural curiosity to come out. Good luck to you… what a great job you gonna have," ayon kay Jeff mula sa Los Angeles, USA.
“I hope people of the Philippines enjoy it. It’s one thing to watch American version of it, but it’s different to watch your own culture… people you might know," ayon pa kay Jeff.
“Do your best and to just (close the mouth) because every time you open your mouth you could get your self in trouble," idinagdag pa ng host.

Here is a post from bluepanjeet.com
Survivor Philippines unleashed… move over Fear Factor Philippines
I just hope that this will not be a disappointment like the Pinoy Idol. But I’m 95% sure that Survivor Philippines will be better since the host is well experienced, spontaneous and is also very fit when it comes to physical challenges. As of this writing, Bediones is undergoing rigid training for the program and GMA7 have axed his game show called Tok Tok Tok to give way to this No. 1 reality show in the world. It is rumored that the location of the 16 outcasts will not be within Philippine territory but a whole new island that has not been touched by Media networks.
This would be a very interesting show since it will be a big task for the staff of Survivor Philippines to create challenges that will somehow make life harder for Filipino outcasts. We all know that Pinoy’s are very resourceful and not fully urbanized even if you are the biggest conyo in the galaxy. This is the show that will really change the landscape of Philippine television… and even now, ABS CBN fanatics are already threatened by the mega changes that GMA7 has unleashed, and are making noises in forums and youtube by their black propaganda against SP. Well for GMA fans, they only has this to say: MOVE OVER FEAR FACTOR PHILIPPINES, YOU SUCK!
Fear Factor Philippines was awarded to ABS CBN by Endemol, the same creator of Big Brother Franchise, and is rumored to be Survivor Philippine’s Biggest rival on the ratings game. In the US, Fear Factor did not overshadowed the popularity of Survivor and was even trailing the latter in the ratings game. Here in the Philippines will history once again repeat itself? I bet!
With these developments, I think I’m going to watch local networks again. You see when there is a network war, it is the viewers who always win. Competition bring good shows. So to all OFWs and Migrant Pinoys out there who have no Pinoy TV and only have TFC, well its time for you to switch cables because this show is going to be the year’s most exciting TV show in the country.
Just a note to ABS CBN, don’t use the the “ratings cheating” non-sense again, lumang tugtugin na yan!

I see. I have to compare the two then. I was not that particular about the video so I wasn't able to distinguish the differences

The 18 Castaways are now Revealed
GMA-7 has finally revealed the identities of the 18 castaways (originally 16) that will compete for the three million pesos cash prize—tax free—in the first-ever Survivor Philippines, hosted by Paolo Bediones.
The 18 castaways, nine males and nine females, were chosen out of more than 43,000 Survivor fans and aspiring castaways who auditioned nationwide. These people from diverse backgrounds—including a lingerie model, a labandera, a yaya, a waiter, a call center agent, a driver, a basketball player—were flown to Koh Tarutao island, also known as the Devil's Island, in Thailand to embark on their biggest challenge yet.
The 18 castways stayed in theDevil Island for more than 39 days.
Meet the 18 castaways of Survivor Philippines:
Kristina "Kaye" Alipio, lingerie model
Leona Rica "Nikki" Dacullo, call center agent
Jervy "Patani" Daño, 20, babysitter
Veronica "Vern" Domingo, 29, taekwondo coach
Vevherly Gador, 20, student
Chevyline "Chev" Macias, 26 years old, former GRO
Zita Ortiga, 46, laundrywoman
Maria Nona "Niña" Ortiz, designer/wellness coach
Anna Charisse Yacapin, 26, product officer
Marlon Carmen, 30, waiter
Crisanto "Cris" Cartagenas, company driver
Emerson Dino, 31, technician
John Anthony Lopez, 27, auto mechanic/model
Raymund Francis "Kiko" Rustia, model
Cesar "Gigit" Sulit, 48, web designer/mountaineer
Robert Vincent "Rob" Sy, sales officer
John Carlo "JC" Tiuseco, 23, basketball player
The 18 castways were initially divided into two groups: Naak and Jarakay, which means snake and crocodile, respectively, in Thai language.
Every three days, they will battle for reward and immunity. On the third day, one will be eliminated until only two or three castaways are left. From them the Jury, composed of voted-out castaways, will determine who will win the three million pesos cash prize and the title of the first Pinoy Sole Survivor.
Survivor Philippines will be aired nightly on GMA-7 after Ako Si Kim Samsoon starting September 15.

Re: Survivor: Philippines General Discussion
GMA-7 brings together 18 strangers from all over the country and puts them in one island for the ultimate challenges in "Survivor Philippines".
They will be tested for 39 days in a deserted island where they will be divided into two tribes.
Tribe Jarakay (which is the Thai word for crocodile) carries the blue color while Tribe Naak (which is the Thai word for snake) carries the red color.
Each castaway has to wear a buff, an elastic material with the logo and color of their tribe.
Armed only with one machete for each tribe, the two groups will build a shelter, scavenge for food and protect themselves from nature's elements while in the island.
They will receive a treemail each day that will give them riddles, clues or instructions about the challenges for the day.
Each challenge is designed to test the castaways' strength, endurance, problem solving skills and teamwork. One day, they would be made to stand for hours on a wobbling piece of wood, then they'd be tasked to solve a mind-boggling jigsaw puzzle the next.
Most of the time, they would have to rely on teamwork to win group challenges that would decide their tribe's fate.
Expect a mixture of action, drama, suspense, romance and comedy as each castaway does anything and everything to claim the P3 million peso grand prize and the distinct honor of being the first ever Pinoy Sole Survivor.
