Entrez Mon Monde Empty Entrez Mon Monde

Post by JonL0ver Tue 17 Jun 2008, 8:14 pm

Okay, I gonna keep the_messenger a company in this corner of the world. I know how it feels to be alone so I wanna keep the night warm for all of us.

I am not fond of blogging because I find it time consuming but I just try to jot down here everything that comes in my crazy world.

I am just afraid people start annoying me if I post something contradictory to what they believe and percieve. I have had instances of this kind of situation and I am not ready to be ridiculed and humbled.

But the show has to go on.

I opened this topic and I have to take whatever comes in my way.

So how will I start this?

I'm in my own world. I can say I am at the deepest level of my life lately but I am trying to stand up at the midst of these seemingly unending myriad of predicaments.

My life is compared to this view.

Post by Jeesan Wed 18 Jun 2008, 2:43 am

I can say that Jonlover is a linguist! He writes so good English and knows French too Razz. Entrez Mon Monde = Enter My World in French right?

Anyway, whatever predicaments you have, I'll pray that you find a way out of them and that you not only stand up but start to fly! Sometimes, life seems so complicated and you tend to feel there's no path to uncomplicate it. Regardless of how much you search it, a way to an easy, smooth life never comes within your sight. Currently, I'm in a similar situation (I know I'm not supposed to have any such problem at my age, so I think my situation is simpler than yours, but it definitely is a whole lot complicated to me!) and I feel as if my life is directionless and heading nowhere. Still, I feel there's a glimpse of bright light that will lead me to my dreams but then I realise that my heart perceives one way to it and my mind another! And add to that, what your loved ones say you should do! End result - confusion and dilemma! Following your heart will give you an ineffable joy but then your brain thinks what will it's future consequences be???

So I've just decided to leave it on to fate, although that does not mean I've given up completely. I'm trying both the ways that my heart and brain tell me to follow and since they are not too different, though a bit roughly, I can pursue both. I firmly believe in "Do your best, and God will do the rest" and "What God does is for the good". The latter one's really controversial, but you never know, the path that you think would be better but life didn't lead you to may have been detrimental to you in some way or the other that you can't think of at the moment. And no offence or anything intended to different religious views, I believe if you are close to God, God will show you the direction and the closer you are to God, the clearer will you be able to view that direction.

Hence I try to take everything as it comes, lightly, slowly, steadily, smoothly (although I don't manage very well) and turn to God whenever in doubt or quagmire. Then I find (though not always, but that doesn't turn me down much) that happiness is just around the corner. Very Happy

Gosh, I got so philosophical here reading Jon's post! Razz
Do I make a good philosopher Razz . My philosophy in life, if I have to sum in a sentence, is:

"YOUR ATTITUDE DETERMINES YOUR ALTITUDE"

and since I believe in the eternal life after death, I also believe that if not in this life, then be it in the after-life (which is eternal and endless), God will definitely place you at the altitude you deserve. Very Happy

Oops, I just realised this is Jon's blog and it's supposed to be a monologue, and I gave a big lecture as if it's a speech-making competition Embarassed. Sorry, if you want just delete my post and I'll understand that I shouldn't post here but rest assured Jon that we'll never ridicule you. Why would we do that? And as far as different points of view are concerned, I think we can just have a healthy discussion without quarelling or bickerings and accept that different people have different points of view and you can only explain yours to others but its upto others to form their own opinion however that is. Just accept that over any matter different people:different point of view. Hey, that sounded like an HSBC ad Razz

Oh god, again I wrote an essay, what to do, it's my habit to overdo or underdo things! Sorry Jon, for taking up so much space on your blog!

Entrez Mon Monde Empty Re: Entrez Mon Monde

Post by troll_guard Wed 18 Jun 2008, 3:37 am

"It was the cooling hour, just when the rounded
Red sun sinks down behind the azure hill,
Which then seems as if the whole earth is bounded,
Circling all nature, hush'd, and dim, and still,
With the far mountain-crescent half surrounded
On one side, and the deep sea calm and chill
Upon the other, and the rosy sky
With one star sparkling through it like an eye." Lord Byron

Sunsets seem to stretch out forever here, a horizontal
abyss of color. That’s all sunsets are - color. They’re nothing
tangible, nothing to touch, to hold, or to own. I suppose you can say a
photograph of a sunset is tangible, but photographs never capture the true
wonder, they can’t reveal the awe in seeing a sunset as it alters before
you, because that awe exists within. No, no, photographs don’t count
because they show a false impression of the colors, and only an illusion
of the importance of a moment that has long passed by the time you receive
the prints.

A clouded recollection perhaps? That’s something you
can hold and own within your memories, but the meaning in a sunset lives
in the moment to which it presents itself, gives itself freely for your
eyes to feast on. A sunset is a gift from something greater than
ourselves. It is from God, or nature, or whomever you want to claim the
bearer and everybody who has stared long enough at a sunset knows this
universal secret to be true.

Someone once told me that sunsets have to do with the
amount of pollution in the air. Saying that only destroys the whole
essence of a sunset, how it holds your spirit, how it reveals a
kaleidoscopic intimacy that stirs inside of you. So I didn’t listen to
that explanation and I still don’t believe it, instead on summer nights
I just stare out at all those magnificent colors. Grapefruit pinks
mingling with rich ruby reds. Warm and creamy oranges bouncing off
egg-yolk yellows. I’ve even seen streaks of soft, velvety mauve. Layers
of bright color blurring together, creating a vibrant fog that can only be
the work of something grander than the sad and simple explanation of
pollution. I know this to be true because I’ve seen the magic in
sunsets.

The stories of my life are marked by the different
shades of a sunset. When I gaze out into the evening sky, the colors that
light it up call out different manifestations from my past. Within the
hues of orange lies the knowledge I’ve had to seek, unearth, absorb, and
apply to my life. When I stare out at orange, I remember that wisdom
exists all around me, and that taking it in always outweighs giving it
out. Red marks the hardships in my life, the tragedies that I could dwell
on, but I choose not too. There were lessons in the sadness and those are
worth remembering, but some stories are too distressing to dredge up
again. Yes, red marks the hardships, but only because of the unique
lessons those hardships taught me.

Pink speaks to the inner child in me. It awakens
giggles and wonderment. It makes me catch my breath, and gives me strength
to believe that there is still more to discover. Yellow reminds me of my
youth. Being young was invariably easy for me. Others talk about life as a
constant struggle, but I never had that when I was young. I never knew a
sensation of pride, and because of that, I never knew the humiliation of
losing it. I just knew who I was. I think the color yellow is my favorite
in sunsets......

...I eventually learnt something about that night with
Phillip though. Everything in life is about perspective, how we choose to
see the world. I’m colored, and I’ve chosen to see that as beautiful.
And the pollution Phillip mentioned is really the dust particles from the
earth stirred up from human activities during the day. I guess if you look
at it that way, life is what causes those magnificent sunsets, and I think
that’s beautiful too.

Yes, the title is in French. It says Enter My World.

I appreciate your insights, both of you, and I love it. The best thing in the world is to touch people in any ways we know. That is making a difference.

What's in a sunset????

We can come up with many ideas on this subject depending on what angle you would like to see it. For some, it is the end but for some it means the beginning of another morrow. For some, it means loneliness but for some it means rest. For some, it says black but for some it tells different colours.

Yes, the way you look at it depends on your attitude in life. It depends on your social upbringing.

Oh, wait! What am talking here??? I don't want to sound like a scholar. Oh, this is not my forte. I'm not in my senses right now to deal something that ejaculates our minds.

This is all for today.

Very Happy

I am back.

But before I start scribbling down my newest entry, I would like to extend my appreciation for the time they have shared in reading this blog to the following: Jeesan, Troll_guard, Ahdeng88, Moorderer and our Hall of Famer, the untouchable VIP, Alan_Ariel.

I was patiently waiting for a connection flight in one of the corners of Kuwait airport when I came across an article written by a fellow Filipino in one of the magazines scattered at the VIP lounge.

The subject is the Kuwait Towers. My attention was caught by the pictures of the tower. Having seen these towers many times, it did not kill my curiosity to read the article since I remembered watching Sarah of TAR 10 climbing amazingly one of the towers with her prosthetic legs. She's incredible. She is dubbed the Bionic Woman.

It was a surprise to me upon knowing that the interiors of the towers were designed by a Filipino and he is the author of the article. The towers were designed by a Swedish architect.

This Kuwait landmark is a living witness to the Iraqi invasion of this tiny oil-producing Middle Eastern country in 02 August 1990. I still remember that infamous war. I was seven that time and my family was in Saudi Arabia.

I would like to salute that Filipino for his work. And his work reminded me some of the works of fellow Filipinos like the Burj Al Arab which is designed also by a Filipino and the Palace of the Sultan of Brunei, another architectural excellence by a Filipino. I know there are lots more there worthy of emulation by the younger generation around the world.

I think it just high time to look back at your roots and appreciate their contributions to the humanity.

THE WORLD WITHOUT FILIPINOS.

Yes, Alan. We are lucky indeed for having that blood of a Filipino. Though you are a Malaysian and I am a French, we should still be proud of our roots.

I learned this when I was in the Philippines, "Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinangagalingan ay hindi makakarating sa kanyang pupuntahan."

It's nice to look back and there is a reason to stay back.

I want to share with you my fellow Filipino, Alan, an article written by a Saudi Arabian national and was published at the Arab News, a leading newspaper in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This one is worth reading for.

Imagine a world without Filipinos
Abdullah Al-Maghlooth | Al-Watan, almaghlooth@alwatan.com.sa

Monday 16 June 2008 (11 Jumada al-Thani 1429)

Muhammad Al-Maghrabi became handicapped and shut down his flower and gifts shop business in Jeddah after his Filipino workers insisted on leaving and returning home. He says: “When they left, I felt as if I had lost my arms. I was so sad that I lost my appetite.”

Al-Maghrabi then flew to Manila to look for two other Filipino workers to replace the ones who had left. Previously, he had tried workers of different nationalities but they did not impress him. “There is no comparison between Filipinos and others,” he says. Whenever I see Filipinos working in the Kingdom, I wonder what our life would be without them.

Saudi Arabia has the largest number of Filipino workers — 1,019,577 — outside the Philippines . In 2006 alone, the Kingdom recruited more than 223,000 workers from the Philippines and their numbers are still increasing. Filipinos not only play an important and effective role in the Kingdom, they also perform different jobs in countries across the world, including working as sailors. They are known for their professionalism and the quality of their work.

Nobody here can think of a life without Filipinos, who make up around 20 percent of the world’s seafarers. There are 1.2 million Filipino sailors.

So if Filipinos decided one day to stop working or go on strike for any reason, who would transport oil, food and heavy equipment across the world? We can only imagine the disaster that would happen.

What makes Filipinos unique is their ability to speak very good English and the technical training they receive in the early stages of their education. There are several specialized training institutes in the Philippines , including those specializing in engineering and road maintenance. This training background makes them highly competent in these vital areas.

When speaking about the Philippines , we should not forget Filipino nurses. They are some 23 percent of the world’s total number of nurses. The Philippines is home to over 190 accredited nursing colleges and institutes, from which some 9,000 nurses graduate each year. Many of them work abroad in countries such as the US , the UK , Saudi Arabia , the United Arab Emirates , Kuwait and Singapore .

Cathy Ann, a 35-year-old Filipino nurse who has been working in the Kingdom for the last five years and before that in Singapore , said she does not feel homesick abroad because “I am surrounded by my compatriots everywhere.” Ann thinks that early training allows Filipinos to excel in nursing and other vocations. She started learning this profession at the age of four as her aunt, a nurse, used to take her to hospital and ask her to watch the work. “She used to kiss me whenever I learned a new thing. At the age of 11, I could do a lot. I began doing things like measuring my grandfather’s blood pressure and giving my mother her insulin injections,” she said.

This type of early education system is lacking in the Kingdom. Many of our children reach the university stage without learning anything except boredom.

The Philippines , which you can barely see on the map, is a very effective country thanks to its people. It has the ability to influence the entire world economy.

We should pay respect to Filipino workers, not only by employing them but also by learning from their valuable experiences.

We should learn and educate our children on how to operate and maintain ships and oil tankers, as well as planning and nursing and how to achieve perfection in our work. This is a must so that we do not become like Muhammad Al-Maghrabi who lost his interest and appetite when Filipino workers left his flower shop.

We have to remember that we are very much dependent on the Filipinos around us. We could die a slow death if they chose to leave us.

That article is really interesting Jon. Till now I had only one encounter with Filipinos in the real world. I met a group of Filipina nurses in Singapore when my mom was taken there for treatment. Although I was only 7 years old then, I saw how efficient they were at their work but more than that they were very amiable and friendly and you could see their clean heart Very Happy They became close to us in a very short period of time, they called my mom their sister, we used to chat and discuss about our cultures, and they came to see us off when we were returning and one of them even gave me a small gift. Filipinos are fantastic Very Happy

Talking about nurse, yeah I remembered one filipina nurse when I was visiting my Dad in ICU once upon a time. Her name is Maria. Really touched by her concern towards my dad, when we checked out, I bought her a bar of chocolate. It is nothing compare to what she has done to the patients there. Just to show my appreciation.

Thank you Jeesan and Camomile for sharing your good encounters with fellow Filipinos around the world. I did not force you to come here but, honestly, with all due respect and sincerity, thanks for entering my world.

It is not my purpose to brag whatsoever about a certain nationality but my purpose was just to share it with fellow individuals who happen to have Filipino connection by blood. Alan and I are both citizens of other countries but our heritage will always tell us to go back to the Philippines.

Cheers

Moving on, I was happy to see Alan's blog/journal or diary. I was actually thinking of using that format. I am jealous Alan started it. It reminds me of the Diary of Anne Frank.

Every now and then, I will be writing my blog in that format. I gonna use the name of Alan as the recipient of the message.

Why Alan? It is because he is also a mix Filipino like me.

Ciao.

No worries JL, even if I didnt post anything in your blog, doesnt mean I didnt read it.

Your blog is too beautiful for me to write something and spoil it. My english is not as perfect as yours. If there is something to share, I will try to post it here.

Thanks Camomile for unselfishly sharing a moment of your precious time just to answer back my message.

Benjbuddy, I don't know if I let myself be flattered since I don't know if I am reading your comment correctly or not. I think my sense of judging seems not to be working. In my mind, two questions are playing. Insult? Or flattery?

But there is one thing I could tell you. I felt like I was in cloud 9 upon reading it but suddenly fell down when I can't remember any points in my blog to ponder.

Moo, thank you for having that attitude. I will write the president of the Republic of the Philippines now to recognize you as one of the country's living national heroes. Your monuments follow when time comes. lol

For those silent souls who are just reading, please leave a mark. Your footprints and fingerprints matter a lot for me to know who come in here. I am so sorry, I am not a paranormal expert to see you nor a psychic to correctly guess if you have visited here or not.

Dear Allan,

How are you buddy? There are a lot of things to talk about but I don't know how to start it. Honestly, I can't make up my mind on what particular thing I am going to impart.

Today is not really a good day but like what I have learned from my childhood, I need to look at things on other angles if they seem bad in the front.

Oh, I almost forgot this. You are definitely wondering while wandering in the pages of my records. What the hell made me addressed my blog to you.?Yes, Alan. It's you and I am talking to you. But don't tell this to JonLover. Just keep this a little secret between us. I am desperately trying to do what Anne Frank did while hiding in an attic from the Nazi.

Anne Frank used to address her diary to Peter, a young boy she had a crush on. Oh, did I mention it right? I need to consult my history books.

So, that's it. I randomly picked your name. Do I need to say more?

The parthenon suddenly flashed at my TV screen. Have you seen it Alan? It's wonderful, right? It's amazing and our generation is lucky to have seen one of the remnants of civilization, a wonderful site that could give us a glimpse of life before.

Entrez Mon Monde Jon51 Entrez Mon Monde Jon225 Entrez Mon Monde Jon320

But everytime I see these wonders of the world, I can't get off with some of the disturbing news historian suggested to us. I am talking about some of the characters of the Greek mythology and some mighty early Greeks who ruled the word.

I have no doubt that you know Achilles and Alexander the Great. They were powerful. They were fighters and once regarded as the greatest warriors of their time.

But what is bothering me is the insinuations of some historians. Have you heard the gay issue slashed on these icons? Yes, they were rumoured to be homosexuals. It was said that Achilles is Patroclus's lover and Alexander the Great is Hephaestion's.

Achilles and Alexander were both devastated when their alleged lovers died. They both suffered from the death. This is a classic example of showing love, well, as far as we view it nowadays.

I think there are hollywood movies portraying these speculations about the personal lives of Achilles and Alexander. I tell you when I discover them.

Jeesan, Alan and nf-heartbreaker, that is the result of entering my world. The title says "Enter My World" and you get a little crazy once you come in. That explains why all of you are asking why you saw your name in the previous post. That makes Alan more confused also.

Post by JonL0ver Thu 26 Jun 2008, 9:44 pm

Dear Alan,

This is a busy day since I am leaving again on the morrow for a getaway trip to somewhere. I am excited but I definitely miss this corner of the world. I am preparing the things I'll gonna bring with me.

Since I am talking about travel here I would like to share with you some of my experiences in the airports. There is nothing special about these but I will just write whatever comes in my mind.

I "travelled" to some of the profiles (airports) in this board and saved their pictures. Would you like to see them?

I just hope these forummers will not mind me posting their pictures here.

Entrez Mon Monde Jon135 This is the half Malaysian half Filipino who lives in Sabah. His features are more of a Filipino. I tell you what I see from him 10 years from now. He'll be having three wives and 50 children from 50 different women.

Entrez Mon Monde Jon321 This is also the naughty young Kadazan lad from Sabah. 10 years from now, he'll be a great Hong Kong actor replacing the throne of Jackie Chan.

Entrez Mon Monde Jon227 This is the promising little brat from Makati City near the Fort. Ten years from now, I see him as the next president of a leading IT company based in Mars. He'll be travelling weekly from Mars to Earth every week to visit his family.

Entrez Mon Monde Eragon14 This Kapampangan boy will be the talk of the world. He'll be featured as the Man of the Year by TIME magazine. Why? I can see, ten years from now, he'll be the most powerful president of his country but will be devastated by a sex scandal with a spy lover who will frame him up.

Entrez Mon Monde Camomi10

This beautiful queenly regal Singaporean baby will also match the record of the Kapampangan boy since she will be leaving her marks on the history of mankind. Ten years from now, I see her as one of FBI's most wanted in the World. I don't know why she will be in the list but 10 years from now, she'll become an international icon and a national hero of her country.

Have a good laugh, Alan. Don't take this seriously. This is just for fun.

See you on Sunday.

Jonlover
