PDA Season 2 scholar Chivas expelled for health reasons

Earlier last night, June 26, it was announced that Chivas Anton Malunda, 22 years old, would be expelled from Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. The Negros Oriental native had experienced three incidents wherein he lost consciousness, which a doctor said was due to hyperventilation. The recurring fainting spells prompted PDA headmaster Ryan Cayabyab to announce their decision to expel The Student Husband from the competition after staying for two weeks inside the Academy.

“Parang may iba akong nafi-feel,” confides Chivas to his wife Bunny during their practice at the piano room. He then asked Bunny to accompany him to the boys’ room when he suddenly fell to the ground unconscious. After a few minutes, Teacher Monet Silvestre and safety marshals arrived to attend to Chivas.

Bunny then opened up regarding the situation of her husband. “Gusto niya talaga sumali pero ayoko. Nag-aaalala ako sa kanya kasi wala ako dun.” She then declared that if he leaves PDA, she will leave the Academy as well.

When Maestro Ryan Cayabyab talks with Chivas, he describes the attacks that happen to him. “May mga attacks po ako. Nakakaramdam ako ng numbness tapos yung mukha gumaganyan [demonstrates].” The PDA headmaster tells Chivas: “Naghihinayang ako ‘cause we really like you.”
As soon as the couple were alone, Chivas tells his wife tenderly, “Laban ka ha, para sa anak natin.” Teacher Monet then asks Bunny to decide whether she will leave with Chivas or remain behind. After thinking it over, she says: “Gusto ko pa pong matuto. Mami-miss ko po siya.”

Ryan Cayabyab continued teaching the other scholars of PDA Season 2 and later told them the reason why they decided to let Chivas leave the Academy. “We are officially expelling Chivas for his well-being. You have given us a very good time and we have seen how much he can improve.”
Because of Chivas Malunda’s exit, the voting for the two probationary scholars, Laarni Losala and Iñaki Salvador, has been suspended.
