I am not sure but it maybe true
becoz they have said that
they received the telephone just before 10 days of the starting day
So they can't buy any things to represent HK
So It maybe true....But I don't care they are replacement team or not
becoz they are funny and competitive and also represent HK

He is the guy infront

According to wikipedia, Gurmit Singh made a special appearance on The Amazing Race US 3.

I remember that scene. That was part of the detour. One of the detours is to find an apartment where Gurmit Singh is waiting. Gurmit hands them down the clue. I remember Flo/Zach and the clowns, Jon and...... I forgot the name of the other one (not Drew and Derek) meet him.

Gurmit Singh is one of the actors of a Singaporean show titled as Phua Chu Kang.
