17th Season of Survivor is being filmed in the Philippines

There is a rumour that is circulating that the next season of Survivor is about to take place in the Philippines, particularly in Camarines Sur, a province in Bicol area. It is reported that the show is being shoot now at Agirangan Island

The application for the 17th season of the popular Survivor ended last 24 January 2008. But it was announced by the show that production will take place by June of this year.

The said season is believed to be a CELEBRITY EDITION. Rumuors are spreading that Jean Claude Van-Damme and Alicia Silverstone are part of the show

I received an email from a friend telling me about the sightings of Survivor in the Philippines. His cousin, who is incidentally connected to a a certain publication company in the Philippines, told him the story.

The news broke out when their group (my friend's cousin) were barred from going to Gota Beach in an island in Camarines Sur, Bicol. The island is named Agirangan and it is located in the Pacific Ocean near Palau, Guam and Micronesia.

They usually go to the beach during Holy Weeks since the beach is beautiful but last week they were surprised to see tourists from all over the world, locals and even local celebrities and politicians barred from going to the said beach.

It was explained to them that a US reality television show is being filmed there. They were told that it is the 17th season of Survivor and Jean Clause Van Damme and Alicia Silverstone were one of the stars spotted.

So the show will feature celebrities this time. affraid

People are coming out with their own accounts that prior to this, they spotted some constructions that were taking place in the area. They were told that an international movie is to be filmed there.

This is interesting. I have a feeling that it is not the 17th season of the Survivor (US) but another season of SURVIVOR-FRANCE ( Koh Lanta).

Survivor fanatics in every part of France were amazed and mesmerized by the beauty of the Philippines when last year, they made EL NIDO, PALAWAN as the location of the show.

But if it is really true that Jean Claude Van Damme and Alicia Silverstone are spotted there, then it is really the US version.

This is a glimpse of the Gota Beach in Agaringan Island, in the town of Camroan in the province of Camarines Sur (in Bicol region) Philippines. This is near Rose Island.

From manila, it's an 8-hour trip to naga city in bicol.
From Naga, take a 2-hour bus trip to Sabang. From Sabang, it's another 2-hour banca ride to Guihalo.
from Guihalo port, it's a 30-minute jeepney ride to the town proper & another 30-minute tricycle to Gota beach.
Gota beach gets pretty crowded on weekends; island-hopping is highly recommended.

While I am making my investigative job on this topic, I came across to a news that CBS will air 17th and 18th seasons of Survivor during 2008-2009 period.

Remember that 16th season is currently aired so I am assuming that the next season will be aired by around October of this year.

They are probably rushing it and probably the rumour holds a pinch of truth.

Guys, I am showing you some screen shots of the Survivor-France. The location was the beautiful exotic Palawan in the Philippines.

So I am thinking that that sighting in Bicol is another season of the said version of the Survivor in France.
