Let's play: American Idol

We have a new game.

JonLover's Amazing Race is over but Eragon's Amazing Race is still ongoing. Survivor: South Africa just started. I observed there is no game patterned to American Idol so I came up with a concept.

I need music enthusiasts and fanatics of American Idol to play here. Come out to the open and we'll start with our own version of the American Idol.

I need 12 contestants to play as competing wannabee singers and 3 critics who will play Simon, Randy and Paula.

The 3 criticics should be willing to write at least 3-5 sentences comments on the performance of the 12 competing idols. That is around 36 - 60 sentences every elimination.

The 12 contestants will pick an idol they would like to portray, from Season 1 to Season 7.

Here is an overview how the game will be done:

1. The host will post the theme of the week, genre of music, and a single out-of-this world question about the song. The choice of song will be based on the theme.

2. Elimination week means two days. So elimination is every after two days.

3.The idol then post the song he/she chose and answer the question.

4. The idols pick one of their compatriots they want to be eliminated via a PM.

5. The 3 judges PM me their comments on each idol and I will compile it. They will also grade the idols.

6. I have talked to the admin already to allow us open a poll in this section for the Idol competition only and guest (not necessarily members can cast their votes). So you can convince your friends, officemates, relatives, mothers, co-forummers and neighbors to vote for you even without registering here.

7. You can campaign others to vote for you by opening a topic in other forums like what Andrea did at AXN-TARA but not here.

8. The basis for elimination come from: A. judges vote B. Idol vote C. Votes from other forummers, friends, etc

Okay, this is how we play the game:

1. The host will start the game by telling you the GENRE OF MUSIC. He will also post an out-of-this-world question about the song in connection to something. In addition, he will ask you around 3-5 questions related to american Idol or anything about the music industry.

2. What you will do is analyze the genre of music, then post the lyrics of the song (include the title and the artist). If it is in other language, there should be an English translation.

For example: The GENRE is 1980 songs. So you have to post a song that was popularized in the Eighties.

For example: The question is "What is the relevance of the song to national security" so you ahve to answer it.

For example: Then answer 3-5 question related to music or the american idol. ( Who is the winner of AI 1? ....How many Indians made it to the Top 12 of AI in all seasons?.....Who is the female judge in AI? ...something like this)

3. The last 3-5 questions will be sent to my PM and the lyrics of the song and the out-of-this-world bonus question will be posted here so that everybody can read it.

4. When you send your answer (3-5 questions) include also your BOTTOM 3 among your co-idols.

5. If all of you have done posting your answers, the host will REVEAL THE TWIST OF THE GAME by posting a message. He will tell you the THEME.

Let's say, the THEME is "WORLD PEACE". For example, you posted ENDLESS LOVE from the eighties and the theme is WORLD PEACE. Now the judges will look the connection of the song to the theme. They will base their comments on the relationship.

{NOTE: Before the game, the very first post you will see is a list of 15 themes. At least you have a clue on what song you will choose}

The judges will try to be sarcastic, bold and funny in their comments per idol. These are for fun only so don't take it seriously. The judges will imitate the attitude of Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell in giving out comments. The judges will comment on each idol and after the comment they will give you your score, 10 as the highest and 1 as the lowest. The comment and scores of the judges to each idol will be posted here for viewing.

6. After you posted your answers and choice of song, even before the judges comment and score you, please invite your co-forummers, here or any other forum to come and vote for you by clicking on the poll. Admin will enable voting even if you are a guest or a non-member of this site so that your neighbors can also vote. I see if we can do multiple votes from one person.

7. Then the host will come back to announce the result by mentioning who is safe and who are in the bottom 3. In the end, the host will eliminate one idol.

8. You will be judged by:

A. Votes from your co-idol - 15%
B. Votes from the poll - 15 %
C. Scores from the judges. - 40%
D. Accuracy of your answers to that 3-5 questions. 10%
E. Intelligence ( How you answer the bonus-out-of-this-world question) - 20%

You can answer anytime even at 12 midnight. Comments of the judges and results will be posted the following day to give way for the voting to run for two days. Elimination is every other day.

no you will not sing.. you just choose a song from a category the host will be posting for the week. and post it here plus you answer one question only.

theme of the week is UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
category of the week is country music
QUESTION: What is the relevance of your song to national security?

So, as an answer, I will post PERHAPS LOVE and its lyrics. PERHAPS, the relevance of the song is to unite all the people through LOVE. I will spread it to the whole world. When all the people in all countries will give us love then they will not hate us and peace and order is realized.

Something like that.

Then, the 3 judges will give you scores and comments. Then you will choose a fellow contestant you would like to vote off. Then we ask the other forumers and guests of this board to vote who will stay in the game.
