Re: Tennis : Novak Djokovic
Nole powers into the finals of Bangkok!
The Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic beat Czech Tomas Berdych in two sets, 7:5, 6:1 in 1 hour and 21 minutes to set up a match with no.2 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga from France.
After Djokovic saved break points in the opening game of the match, there were no break chances until the 12th game when Nole used his first break point to win the first set 7:5.
Seemed like at the beginning of the second set Berdych was still thinking about that last point when the net was on Nole’s side. Djokovic broke his service in the second game and then held for 3:0 lead. The 23-year-old Czech managed to win one more game in the match. Novak broke him again in the sixth game and closed the match in style, 6:1.
The Serb will play in Sunday’s final for his fourth trophy in 2008., eleventh in his career. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) defeated his compatriot Gael Monfils 6:0, 6:3 earlier today.
The two players met in the final of Australian Open when Djokovic won in four sets to win his first Grand Slam title.
The final match is scheduled at 10am CET (3pm local time).

Re: Tennis : Novak Djokovic
Thanks Jon, and what wow Troll_Guard?
Tsonga beats Djokovic to capture his first career title!
The best Serbian tennis player and top seed of Thailand Open in
Bangkok, Novak Djokovic lost in the finals to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (2) in
two sets 7:6 (7:4), 6:4 in 1 hour and 42 minutes.
Novak started the match very well breaking his opponent’s service in
the third game. He kept the advantage until the eighth game when the
Frenchman managed to break back and equalise to 4:4. The set was
decided in tie break. After each player made two mini-breaks, and
Djokovic took the lead 4-3, Tsonga won four points in a row, making two
more mini-breaks to win the set 7:6 (7:4) in 56 minutes.
Nole had two chances for break in the second game of the second set,but
the Australian Open runner up held for 1:1. Both players won the games
on their services until the ninth game when Tsonga used his chance and
broke Djokovic’s service to take a lead 5:4. He was serving for the
match in the next, very nervy game.Novak earned himself three break
points and chance to come back into the match, but the 23-year-old from
Le Mans saved them all and used his first match point to win his first
singles ATP title!
Tsonga was more determined today, more aggressive, taking the
initiative. He made only three more unforced errors than Djokovic
(26/29), but hit fourteen more winners (13/27). Novak converted only 1
of 6 break points, Tsonga used 2 of 3 chances for break. The Frenchman
fired 8 aces, Nole only 3.
This was their second match. Novak won in this year’s Australian Open final.
Djokovic won 120 points and 51.000$.
Next tournament Novak will play in Madrid (Masters Series), that starts on Monday, 13th October.

Haha, xD..
She ( Ana ) didn't participate in Olympics .. and overtaken by Jelena Jankovic but after a week Ana lead again.. but.. because of Injury.. she quit US Open , so she lost 1000 Points ( If I'm not wrong ) because didn't defend his title .. and Serena won US Open in Style xD...

Re: Tennis : Novak Djokovic
Djokovic looking at the No.1!
The Serbian, Novak Djokovic, number three of the world, comes to Madrid with a definite purpose: to keep up a consistent and balanced profile that will allow him to keep up his challenge for the top position in the ATP ranking, currently occupied by Rafael Nadal.
“Being No.1 is my purpose in life,” points out Djokovic, who, on the other hand, recognises that “There are many great players in the world and, of course, the two at the top, Nadal and Federer, are a level above the rest.”
The Balkan player is certain that the key to achieve his goals is “to work hard and stabilise his level of performance.”
Djokovic would have more chances to get closer to the ATP No. 1 if he managed a victory against Rafael Nadal in a possible semi-final. However, Djokovic admitted that he would rather play against a less complicated rival. “Playing against Rafa, whatever the court surface, is always difficult. He has been playing his best tennis this year,” he stated.
With regard to the Mutua Madrileña Masters Madrid, he commented that it was nice to be back in this fixture, which impressed him greatly “because the VIP lounge is huge and the premises are very good.”

Tough challenge and an important win for Novak!
Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic came back from a set down to
secure his place in the third round of the Mutua Madrilena Masters
Madrid, when Romanian qualifier Viktor Hanescu (73) retired at 6:7
(8-10), 7:6 (8-6), 3:1 after 2 hours and 19 minutes.
The best Serbian tennis player was broken in the fourth game of the
first set, but managed to break back immediately and held for 3:3. The
set was decided in tiebreak. Djokovic missed one set point, while
Hanescu used his third, making one mini-break more than the Serb, to
take it 10-8.
Novak faced a break point in the opening game of the second set, but
saved it to take a lead. There were no chances for break until the 12th
game when Djokovic failed to convert two break/set points. Hanescu
equalised to 6:6, and the players fought once again in tiebreak. This
time Novak had more luck and won it 8-6.
At 1:1 in the third set Hanescu asked for a medical timeout. Two more
games were played. Djokovic made a break in the third game and held for
3:1 when Victor Hanescu retired due to his right leg injury.
Novak will next play no.14 seed Croat Ivo Karlovic who defeated Robin
Soderling earlier today. They played against eachother at Masters
Series tournament in Hamburg this year, Djokovic won in straight sets.
The third round match is scheduled on Thursday.

Re: Tennis : Novak Djokovic
Novak still the third player in the world!
Although Novak failed to defend semifinal points from last year’s
Masters tournament in Madrid, his third place in the ATP rankings was
not threatened.
With 4575 points, he still has the ranking he’s been holding since August 2007.
Nadal is still world number one (7100), Federer is second (6805), and
the champion of Madrid, Andy Murray from Great Britain, is fourth in
the rankings with 3420 points.
There also weren’t many changes in ATP Race, the best five hold their positions.
Novak is next playing at Paris Masters tournament, which will be held
from 27th October til 2nd May. That will be the last test before
Masters Cup in Shanghai (starts on November 9). Nadal, Federer,
Djokovic, Murray and Davydenko have already secured their place at the
final tournament of the year.

Novak back in action in Paris!
Draw has been made for Paris Masters tournament that will be played from October 26 until November 2.
The best Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is seeded third, and
receives a bye in the first round as well as other 15 seeded players.
Last year Novak exited early, losing to home player Fabrice Santoro
3:6, 2:6 in the second round, so he’s not defending any points.
Djokovic will play his second round match against Dmitry Tursunov (RUS)
who beat Adrian Mannarino (FRA, WC) in his first round match.
His third round opponent could be Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA, #13 seed) or Radek Stepanek (CZE).
Novak’s possible rivals in quarterfinals are Andy Roddick (USA, 7), Gilles Simon (FRA, 10), Janko Tipsarevic (SRB).
Match against world number two Roger Federer is not possible before
semifinals. David Ferrer (ESP, 5), James Blake (USA, 11) and Richard
Gasquet (FRA, 14) are in that quarter.
Rafael Nadal (ESP, 1) is in the other half of the draw, as well as Andy
Murray (GBR, 4), Nikolay Davydenko (RUS, 6) and the defending champion
David Nalbandian (ARG, 8).
Novak will also play doubles in Paris. In pair with his compatriot
Viktor Troicki, Novak will face Acasuso (ARG) / Ferrer (ESP) in his
opening round on Monday.

Novak against Tsonga in the third round of Paris!
After two weeks off, Novak came back with a win at the Paris Masters
tournament. He was leading 6:2, 4:3 when Russian Dmitry Tursunov
retired. The match lasted only 53 minutes.
The two players have never met before, Novak now leads 1:0.
Djokovic started very well, made an early break in the second game and
then held for 3:0. He managed to break once again, in the eighth game
to take the set 6:2. Nole had fantastic realization of first (93%) and
second service (75%).
Tursunov played better at the beginning of the second set. He broke
Novak’s service in the third game to take a lead, but world number
three broke back immediately to equalise.
Three more games were played, when the Russian retired at 4:3 for Novak.
Djokovic’s third round opponent at Paris Masters (hard, 2.270.000
euros) will be Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA, 13) who defeated Radek Stepanek
(CZE) in three sets on Wednesday.

Tsonga stops Djokovic in Paris!
The best Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic failed to reach the
quarterfinals of the Paris Masters, losing to no.13 seed Jo-Wilfried
Tsonga in three sets, 4:6, 6:1, 3:6, in 1 hour and 53 minutes.
Djokovic served out the opening game. Although there were break chances
on both sides in the second and third game, the first and only break in
the first set was in the fifth game, when at 2:2 Tsonga took the
initiative, breaking Djokovic to go 3:2 up. The Frenchman won the set
6:4.
Tsonga managed to win only one game in the second set. Nole broke his opponent’s service twice to take the set comfortably 6:1.
The home player looked much fresher in the third set, more determined
and aggressive. He made an early break and then held for 3:0 lead.
Djokovic saved one match point on his own service, but Tsonga was
confident serving for the match, hitting an ace to close the set 6:3.
This was their third match, Tsonga now leads 2:1.
Novak’s next and the final tournament in 2008 is the Masters Cup in Shanghai.
I like the picture .. LOL..

Novak got together with his fans in Novak SHOP!
Although we had released the news about Nole’s arrival in Belgrade and
Novak SHOP only 24 hours before it happened, it didn’t prevent his fans
from coming in great numbers to Fitex centre on Saturday to see their
idol.
During 30 minutes Novak was signing autographs, chatting and taking pictures with the fans.
Here are few photos showing only part of the atmosphere.
