Episode 8 of TARA 3 - Spoilers and Speculations

Okay, while waiting for the preview, let's start with these information:


After a NEL in Leg 7 in Macau, China, still 5 teams are left:

First to depart - Tisha and Geoff
Second to depart - Sam and Vince
Third to depart - A.D. and Fuzzie
Fourth to depart - Henry and Bernie
Fifth to depart - Ida and Tania

On our way to Chennai, my brother and I bumped into a team from the next season of the Amazing Race at the Singapore airport.

The two contestants were representing Philippines, their next destination was Cochin, India (we even got a peek at the blue note with the globe symbol). Since no other team was around, and I think they mentioned a 2 hour lead over another (with some Simon?), my guess is that they were among the final few contestants. ( LINK )

Although I have already mentioned all the important details in my previous post, just to confirm, the contestants were on the Cathy Pacific flight CX739 from Hong Kong - Singapore that departed from Hong Kong on 1st June 2008 around 11:20AM (Hong Kong time). And at Singapore, after our chat, they booked the next flight from Singapore - Cochin in Air India which was leaving in another 3 hours or so from Terminal 2 (or was it 3?). Hope this extra bit of information is gratifying enough ( LINK )

We might see one of these tasks in this Cochin Leg. This is the article written in Chinese, forwarded by Heartz1988 and translated by Ahdeng.

Sam said one of the Roadblocks is a swimming task. Vince did that Roadblock but it required him to do some mental works .

Then there is one clue which says "Cat". Sam like cats, so he did the it but it actually tells us to deliver dozens of cats!! ( LINK )

We might see a TBC here if this interview from Henry is true or this might happen in the next leg

That's TARA2. So after 2 consecutive NELs, we should have an EL. Episode 8 should be an EL.

Hehe, Banzai, that's only of the 3 choices I have but you might be right. We'll find more angles to speculate.

cochin has many rivers n lakes.... i thought they will have a task in catamaram(a long wooden boat).... which is popular in cochin....

But in the last leg in macau they did it....

Julsrum13, that's what I have read at AXN. Hehe. Like in Hong Kong, they probably do one task and then they will fly to India. Michael McKay loves bungy jump. I remember he once wrote in his corner that if there is ever a chance for a bungy jump, he'll definitely include it and this is it.

My Speculation.......

First the need to go to Macau Tower.........1st come 1st serve
So that G/T can jump 1st and they are very lucky to catch the latest ferry back to HK
And the Luck helps them get on the 1st flight
Which is faster than the 2nd flight about 2 hrs

Anthony and Benj, you are both correct. I have seen the preview just now and I will be posting the screen caps later for us to analyze.

I have seen a helicopter in the preview and I remember what you have written here, Anthony.

If you want to go to Macau from Hong Kong. You've 3 ways to choose from.

1) Go to Tsim Sha Tsui to get on a ferry to Macau
2) Go to Shang Wan to get on a hydrofoil to Macau
3) Go to Shang Wan also they get on the helicopter

P.S No body will go to Macau by aeroplane..........
It is too close and when they are boarding in HK a few minutes will arrive in Macau

Looking for flight is not my forte, Sprity. Maybe you can do it. If you are back to the first post of this thread, we can read Tisha and Geoff booked the Indian Air.

Just remember this, Tisha and Geoff went to Hong Kong first and then to Singapore where they booked their next flight to Cochin, India.

I have a question. Can't we get flights in these routes?

1. Macau - Singapore - Cochin?
2. Macau - Hong Kong - Cochin?
3. Macau - Cochin?

Why didn't Tisha and Geoff book a direct flight from Hong Kong to Cochin?

From hong kong to cochin there are less flights only....

They can make their way thru mumbai to cochin...

i think the time difference made tisha n geoff to choose singapore direction........

But........Will they occur some penalty if they travel by helicopter??
Becoz I think that They will write take a ferry in the clue clearly (If no it will be very unfair)
And the helicopter cost very expensive (about $1000 HK Dollars Ferry only $140)
Will they have enough money to do that??
If enough.........Maybe they need to beg their money It makes them bad in the later leg

The first task is a bungy jump in Macau Tower then they go to India. In going to India, they have to go back to Hong Kong. If Geoff and Tisha are two hour lead over Sam and Vince, why made the Hong Kong buddies so behind?

1. What is the hour of operation of the Macau Tower?
2. What is the first flight back to Hong Kong via a helicopter?
3. What is the first ferry back to Hong Kong?

If we get the answers then we can explain the 2-hour lead now. Agree? Help me search.

That means it is possible

I think G/T took the Helicopter
(Maybe they've checked the latest flight from HK to India
So they took the helicopter to caught up the flight)
And the other teams took the ferry
So S/V are 2hours behind

Hi Anthonyctf. If Tisha and Geoff indeed take the helicopter then it's definitely allowed as per the clue. The clue could read like this: "Make your way to Cochin, India." Maybe as simple as that so taking any mode of transportation which include the helicopter is legal.

As per the money, they might have collected enough amount from their allowance since leg 1 in Bangkok. Or maybe they have begged to locals or to Filipinos in Macau. I have just learned there are so many Pinoys in Macau. We don't know. Hehe

I think we can 95% sure G/T took the helicopter
I don't think that India's task will have helicopter
and there is no more FF too
So the only chance to took the helicopter is From Macau to HK
So G/T have 2hours lead

There is more restrictions here in india to use helicopters.....

Sprity, then that statement from you supports our speculation that the helicopter is before India. It is used to transport a team from Macau to Hong Kong.

This is exciting.Another smart move.

So can we look the first helicopter back to Hong Kong and the first ferry? The date should be 01 June 2008.

	9am - 9pm (weekends and public holidays)

Bungy Jump	Weekday	11:00am - 6:00pm

10am - 9pm (weekdays)
9am - 9pm (weekends and public holidays)

The date when the teams went on bungee jumping in macau was May 31, 2008. This is according to aravind camera when he took the picture in singapore with Geoff and Tisha behind him.. It's saturday(weekends) so it is 9 am.. Goeff and Tisha was the first to do the bungee jumping.. So they have enough time to go to hongkong and catch the cathay pacific flight..

cochin has a shipyard.... so u can find many fisher boats n fish markets...

Ooops.. I havent's found yet the hours operation for bungee jumping.. I apologized for that.. Yeah.. It's 10 am because its weekend..

OMG. So, Geoff and Tisha probably asked the next flight to Singapore after they take off. That is why they know they have a 2-hour lead.

But what if the other teams booked a flight directly from Hong Kong to Cochin? Are there flights in that route in 01 June 2008?

So we can now conclude that the bungy jump in Macau was on the 1st of June.
