Spotted on Tuesday night, April 22 at Chicago O'Hare
Spoilers: (Credit to RFF)
Neobie starts the ball rolling here:
*Van
munster, who personally, scouted every location ont the show reveales
that the route for Season 13, which will start filmimg in April or May, will be "very origina" and "insane".
Kogs brings us a job listing posted by WRP/CBS "A small crew will be needed to start April 7th, the rest of the crew will begin April 21st"
peachs brings us a blog entry dated 4/22:
*"This
time, as we were waiting for the team to get checked in at the airport,
we got a glimpse of what appeared to be some competitors on The Amazing
Race.
*I saw a camera crew shooting two blondes wearing hot pink sweatsuits
as they quickly walked outside the terminal. Hmmm, don't think we've
ever seen THAT kind of team before on the show (says she with heavy
sarcasm).
*A few minutes later, we caught a glimpse of two more pairs
peach contacts the writer of the blog and brings us more details:
*She
saw the teams on 4/22 at about 11 AM outside the Delta terminal 5.
Looking from inside the terminal out, the teams would have been moving
to the right.
Chateau d if does some amazing detective work by visiting LAX and gets details:
* The gal said there was one team that was 'hippie' like with long white hair (she demonstrated with her hands at mid chest level). They
were an older couple, as in, male and female. She estimated their ages
to be 40's or 50's. She also mentioned the two girls and another team
that was just a regular young couple in their 20's.
*I just point blank asked "Where were they flying to?" And he said "Brazil. Sao Paulo, Brazil"
*He also confirmed the Hippie couple. They are old enough to be originals from the 60's.
*He said there were 5 teams going via UA and 6 teams via AA.
*So there you have it: 11 teams of two. Off to their first destination in Sao Paulo.
So the speculated route so far based on spoilers:
USA-Sao Paulo-Buenos Aires
I'm getting excited for TAR13!

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
This is the blog that started it all. It was taken from this SITE
April 22, 2008
Athens, GA - After a long travel day Tuesday, the Bruins are settling in here in Athens, GA, with a Wednesday afternoon schedule that includes a 4 pm practice on the podium and some media obligations.
Travel on Tuesday was relatively easy, as we had a non-stop four-hour flight to Atlanta, followed by about a two-hour bus ride to Athens. It sounds long, but after our 12-hour experience travelling to Gainesville a little over a week ago, this was a piece of cake.
The team all had different ways of occupying themselves on the long flight. Some napped, some studied (and some napped while studying). Others watched movies, and some (including yours truly) played the in-flight trivia game. I'm a bit of a trivia fiend, so I was having fun with it. When they weren't flashing all the aviation and geopolitics questions, that is! Where were the gymnastics "How many inches wide is the balance beam?" questions? Or the "Which school was the first to win 100 NCAA Championships?" questions? Student trainer Jessica Hooper proved to be stiff competition, taking a few rounds. Coach Foody also had a strong showing, taking round one.
After stopping for dinner halfway between Atlanta and Athens, we finally arrived at our hotel at 11 pm. A videographer for the Tournament was there to document our arrival. The lobby of the hotel was decked out with banners hanging from the ceiling for each team and the teams of individual qualifiers that were staying there. The Championship excitement is definitely in the air!

The great thing about the LA airport is that you never know who or what you'll see. Last time we were there, we saw Maurice Jones-Drew. This time, as we were waiting for the team to get checked in at the airport, we got a glimpse of what appeared to be some competitors on The Amazing Race. I saw a camera crew shooting two blondes wearing hot pink sweatsuits as they quickly walked outside the terminal. Hmmm, don't think we've ever seen THAT kind of team before on the show (says she with heavy sarcasm). A few minutes later, we caught a glimpse of two more pairs. They didn't seem to be rushing too much, so I'm thinking they aren't going to last very long on this show.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
These are the team allegedly seen at Los Angeles Airport:
1. A young blonde female team in pink.
2. Two slacker males in their early to mid twenties.
3. A team of Hippies (older team, male and female 40-50's perhaps oder) with long white hair
4. A Mother (apparently or a Cougar perhaps....) with her fit son.
5. A young male/female couple. No other description.
And we also have confirmation on 11 total teams.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
At TwoP, Shacklebolt has found a post at a Brazilian message board (in
Portuguese) that cites a local newspaper which has TAR fiming in
Salvador (Brazil's
3rd largest city) on Apr. 24 and 25. One task is to rappel down
Elevador Lacerda. Salvador ia a way's north of Sao Palao, so this
should be the 2nd leg
of the race. Hopefully, it will be like TAR 9 where the first 2 legs
were in Brazil and then they left South America.

Please, thank you to Realityfanforum and to the bloggers. If you happen to see these, please e-mail me at beajonlover@gmail.com and I will ask the admin to delete these pictures.
Teams from the Amazing Race are seen in Angkor Watt, Cambodia. So after they went to Brazil, they travelled to the east.
Here is a picture:
This picture is taken from the Angkor Watt in Siem Reap Town, Cambodia. The lady is allegedly one of the racers and she is holding a clue that clearly indicates they are doing a ROADBLOCK challenge.

An Amazing Race
USA | Sunday, 4 May 2008 |
Sure, the highlight today should have been the magnificent visit to Angkor Wat, but I'll be the first to admit I was a little obsessed with the filming of a certain, unnamed reality show that airs on Tuesday nights on CBS, that features pairs of people adventuring on a global scavenger hunt. I think you catch my drift. I even got filmed helping one of the contestants find her clue and signed my life away to CBS, or at least signed away any shot of royalities from a brief glimpse of fame! We'll definitely be watching when the new season starts to see if we can spot ourselves in the "travel documentary" that two of the contestants said they were in
We arrived in Siem Reap a mere 13 hours after leaving Ho Chi Min City by bus, with a brief stop in Phnomh Penh for a little monsoon and a side of lunch. We settled in the "popular" guest house to rest up for our big day of temples.
The temples truly are spectacular, and even more so when you think of how they were constructed so long ago. We had our private tuk-tuk driver taking us around, and we ended the day watching the sunset from top of a hillside temple, the highest point the region.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
That sighting in Angkor Watt in Cambodia is also attested by another blog entry from THIS BLOGGER. At the last part of her entry, she wrote this:
SO, this could be a detour or additional task. TASK: CARRY A BASKET FULL OF BALUT????????? Remember, balut is also a delicacy in Cambodia.
Sadly I had to stay goodbye to Alex yet again. She headed off to Vietnam while I made my way to Siem Reap, by boat . Wise choice. The water is low, but we only got snagged a few times, making it here in about six hours. I've really enjoyed boat travel in SE Asia so I was glad to have one more opportunity before leaving this part of the world.
We also witnessed upon arrival what appeared to be a segment being filmed for Amazing Race. Before we could take off from the dock, we had to sit and wait while they filmed some couple with backpacks stacking baskets and then jumping in the back of a truck.
SO, this could be a detour or additional task. TASK: CARRY A BASKET FULL OF BALUT????????? Remember, balut is also a delicacy in Cambodia.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
Another blog entry was written on 05 May 2008 confirming the TAR in Cambodia. This is from REZWORLDTOUR. Here is the text and the picture.
They were in Angkor Wat the same time as my group, so if you happen to see that episode, you might see one of the Cambodian guys in my group helping him find the clue (look for people in a bright green t).
Btw, I THINK I have decided upon Marseille as my home for June vs Nice or Bordeaux, assuming Alliance Francais has classes starting every week, like they do in Paris.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
On 06 May 2008 which is TODAY, another blogger wrote this entry and posted pictures he took from the airport of what appeared to be contestants from the Amazing Race.
The source is THIS BLOGGER.
The source is THIS BLOGGER.
Was just in the Siem Reap, Cambodia airport with the next Amazing Race people. When I asked one of the crew, he hesitated and told me it was a documentary. Then I looked around and saw 12 crew members, 7 cameras and 9 boom mikes. Then two of the contestants who had overheard me talking about going to Nepal earlier, snuck away from everyone to ask me if I was going to India. Here's the transcript of that conversation:
Girls: Hey
Me: Hey
Girls: Um, can you do us a favor? So you're going to India?
Me: No, actually Nepal.
Girls: Oh. Is that near India?
At this point I knew immediately that they were, in fact, not going to win this show.
Me: Uhhhhh, I guess you could say that. They're neighbors so yeah. Are you with that "documentary" that's really called "Amazing Race"?
Girls; We're not really supposed to talk about it. It's just a travel show.
Me: Right. Anyway, what can I do for you?
Girls: Well, we need to find something in India and thought you might be able to help since you were going near there.
Me: Okkkkkkkkk. But I'm actually going to Nepal.
Girls: We're looking for something really obscure in Delhi.
Oh yeah, they're definitely not winning. At this point I gave up and decided to just try to find out more about the show. Although I should note the desperation of continuing to ask me about Delhi when I was going to an entirely different country is really funny. At this point I gave up and decided to just try to find out more about the show. But I did push couchsurfing as a means to find someone in Delhi and ask them a question or post on a message board there. I also offered to contact my old buddy Cal who's in India but they have no email access. Besides that, they have limited internet access, again, no email, no facebook (don't know why that was volunteered) and they get clues to go find stuff like on the show. And they were headed from Cambodia to Thailand to India. They're only on the trip for a month. EVERYTHING points to the Amazing Race.
Anyway, sat in front of all of them on the plane where they were filmed almost the entire time and took pictures on the bus and in the Bangkok airport that I'll post. They're kinda blurry but I'll blame that on bad lighting and me trying to chase them to get a picture. There's one picture of people on an escalator. One guy in the yellow headband and jew-fro who's prominently displayed in the picture is a contestant with a HUGE star of david around his neck. Can't wait till that gets airbrushed out. Also, the girls I was talking to went the wrong way so that's how I got so many pictures of them. But they were down to 6 teams so I guess they made it that far. Wait, I can use this information to bet on this, can't I?
Enjoy the pics.

Here is another BLOG FROM JUST A NOMAD written yesterday, 05 May 2008.

My flight out of Santiago-
Sometimes people make foolish mistakes that have small consequences and other mistakes can be quite costly, I made one of the costly ones last week. I booked a ticket from Santiago to Oklahoma, the ticket was $450, all the other flights were around a thousand dollars, so of course I booked the cheaper flight, when I showed up to the airport in Santiago I went to check in and the flight was not on the board, and the counter did not upon for 8 hours, so I asked a service personal and she said that she had never heard of the flight number. So I went to the airlines office and then I found out that I had booked a flight from Santiago Dominican Republic and not Santiago Chile, the lady at the desk asked me how I was planning in getting to the Dominican Republic to take this flight, and at this moment I felt like the biggest idiot in the world, some world traveller I have become. So I was blessed when the ticket sales office opened there was a very wonderful employee who worked for almost 30 minutes checking on different flights for me, actually the ticket cost was at that time $2700 to fly to Oklahoma, but my newest friend behind the counter, helped me find a flight and also came up with a special fare I think just for me, and so for $1000 I had a ticket back to Oklahoma. But he told me that I lost the $450 on my other ticket, but he kindly told me that I could most likely get a travel voucher to fly one way from the Dominican Republic to any destination. this was not very reassuring because it was one way, and that would mean that I would have to get to Dominican Republic to even use the ticket. But my mother when given this information called the US office and after another half an hour on the phone they returned this $450, TRULY AMAZING! And as a special bonus the several teams from the Amazing Race through the airport while I was there.

Do you remember the blogger who saw the teams in Thailand International Airport? His name is Jason Fuiman. He updated his blog with new pictures he took at the airport.
Thanks, Jason, for the pictures.

Amazing Race 2
Just a quick note that I seem to have stumbled upon an Amazing Race internet fan club with my recent post and for the next 72 hours (or until someone else posts pics or gives updates on their whereabouts), I declare myself an internet celebrity. In the meantime, my pics and inside info are seemingly all the rage right now. I'm bigger than Gawker. It's pretty funny though. Actually the funny thing is that even though I'm a tv junkie (for example, I haven't missed an episode of Lost or Jericho or Friday Night Lights since I've been out here, and even, shamefully, I can't believe I'm admitting this, am now caught up on Gossip Girl. I only watch it to see where they film in Manhattan. Anyone buy that?), I've never watched a single episode of Amazing Race before. So yeah, I guess I'll be adding this upcoming season to my list.
And in case you're wondering I have no idea who posted that comment. I tend to forget that this blog is open to the public and not just my mother and 4 friends. I'm actually curious how my writing will translate to people who don't know me especially since sarcastic self-depracation is tough to pull off in writing. On a similar note, I kind of feel a little bad about reporting my conversation with the racers because they look like idiots but I've decided not to say which ones they were and anyway, that's pretty much what happened so I'll leave it up. They also went the wrong way when in the airport. I mentioned but didn't explain that earlier but they actually passed through customs when everyone else went directly to the international terminal. I felt terrible for them because the cameras were on them the whole time as they stood in baggage claim trying to figure out what to do to get to the international departures and the cameraman and sound guy just stand there staring at them without saying a word obviously. It's very surreal.
Anyway I've decided that in light of this recent turn of events I will add a "hit counter" to indulge my vanity-side and see how may people this attracts and for the next 72 hours I will use my new found fame to raise awareness for many noble causes. After I go back to sleep.
Oh, here are the rest of this pics in case Amazing Race fans are interested (See, I'm expanding my audience).
