Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
This is from a blogger who saw the TAR 13 filming in Cambodia. Her name is Lorna, if I am not mistaken.
She sent the message and pictures to georgiapeach of Realityfanforum and I am just bringing it here.
Thanks Georgiapeach.
These are the Jewish frat boys in Angkor Watt.
He's holding a clue in red. It's the Roadblock.
He's holding a picture or GPS. He had to match the picture from the faces carved in the temple.
So, I can say now that there is no leg in Dubai since Jews are not allowed to enter UAE or to any other Arab countries. Maybe we could discount now the possiblity of TAR 13 going to any Arab countries. Some teams migh just have transit here.

We were at Angkor Wat on the 4th May when they were filming the Amazing Race. We only saw one team at Angkor for the whole time we were there which was a couple of hours. This team was both male, one with orange hair and the other with brown hair and they were at the clue box at 11.30am. We also happened to see all the teams walking around Siem Reap town that evening and I recall seeing 6 teams. I would love to visit your website and I have plenty of photos I will send to your email address

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
Yes, Alenn, the roadblock was done in Angkor Wat.
Detour was either in Tonle Sap Lake, Southeaast Asia's largest freshwater and UNESCO biosphere ( There is a picture of seven boats with the Amazing Race marker. It is in this thread.) or in a Siem Reap Bus Station, as per the Filipino blogger, Marilen, told me through e-mail. (The picture taken by Marilen is also in this thread)
Now, try to figure out what could be the two tasks for the detour??

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
Just a hunch on what they can do in the Bus Station:
http://ki-media.blogspot.com/2008/01/sihanoukvilles-phsar-leu-fire-burns.html
The bus station is near a market, so that means they can do task related to selling or delivering things.
This is a picture of the market which is burned recently:
As for the Tonle Sap Lake, it is know for it's fishing activities. But I found a site that list possible activities that can be done in the lake:
http://travel.nytimes.com/travel/guides/asia/cambodia/siem-reap/attraction-detail.html?vid=1154654624135
http://ki-media.blogspot.com/2008/01/sihanoukvilles-phsar-leu-fire-burns.html
In Siem Reap the Chong Kov Sou bus station is
located near Phsar Leu (the 'Upper Market') a couple of kilometers west of town center.

you do glimpse a bit of river life, the net-twirling fishermen, floating
schools donated by Korean NGOs, and the commercial boat traffic on the
Tonle Sap's main inlet, but once out on the water of the lake you get a
quick ride among ethnic Vietnamese, Khmer houseboats, and fisherman,
then stop at a large tourist-trap barge with crocodile pits, small fish
farms, perhaps an aquarium with some sickly looking turtles, snakes,
and fish choking on dirty water.

Great, Alenn. Wow.
Yes, in that bus station, a blogger has an account that she saw a team loading a pig in a blue truck. She was actually referring to the Afro-American team.

You're perfect Alenn. Your research is abdolutely correct. I got a confirmation from my "sweet credible source" about the bus station.
And I got some pictures to share.
I update this later when I wake up. I am drowsy now, haven't sleep for 24 hours now.
See you later.

You're so damn right, Alenn_wafu. I got an e-mail from one of the bloggers who saw the teams in Siem Reap. We'll just call her our "sweet reliable source". She gave me some informations on what she saw and shared some pictures.
Here is the conversation with Sweet Reliable Source via e-mail:
Can you tell me something about the Amazing Race filming you have witnessed in Cambodia?
The bus we boarded
was abt to leave already when we got there. At first,
we didn't even realize it was for Amazing Race until
we saw them drawing out the Amazing Race Card from the
striped box. The shoot happened at a bus station in
Siem Reap. There was a row of trucks (like the blue
truck in the photo) so most likely the next challenge
was related to that. When our bus left, they were
shooting each vehicle and driver. So we didn't witness
much action:(
regards,
Sweet Realiable Source
Do you remember the date you saw them? What time was it in the day?
It was May 4. Our bus departure was 730am.
Do you have a clear memory on how many blue coloured trucks were there?
5 trucks - pls refer to
one of the attached photos. Also each one had a driver
(w/ helmets on so their gender are barely
recognizable).
Is there a name for the bus stop or station where you saw them?
Chong Kov Sou Bus Station (Near Phsar
Leu)
Photo taken by Sweet Reliable Source
By the way, I have attached the same photo in this email and when we zoomed it in, our attention was focused to two females who appeared to be racers...can you please check it for us?
Yep, as we we leaving, the camera man starting getting
footages of each truck driver. Pls see attached photo
where they were climbed up a truck.
And here are some of the pictures she sent me. Thanks for the kindness of our dear source.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
OMG I have a fresh spoiler about the final leg in Portland, Oregon!
The entry is dated June 1st.
http://wweek.com/wwire/?p=11881
Benson Hotel:
The bolded location might probably be the Finish Line.
Here are some pictures of Paranoid Park:
But there is another allegedly final pit stop in the comments below:
Here are some Pictures of Pittock Mansion:
There is also a sighting of a clue box in VooDoo Donuts store.
But I think this spoiler is already found. I just like to share since this is my first time to search spoilers because I'm bored.
The entry is dated June 1st.
http://wweek.com/wwire/?p=11881
Forget next Tuesday’s primary, the real race is already underway.
Although officials at the Port of Portland cannot confirm rumors,
CBS-TV’s The Amazing Race 13 , which pits teams against each other in a race around the world, has touched down in Portland now through Thursday, May 15 .
Who knew? Well, as first reported here, it was none other than local
mens panties proprietor, Steven Lien, of UnderU4men. According to Lien,
who was pushed out of his normal parking garage to make way for the
camera crew on Monday morning, the show looks like it’s staging right behind Broadway’s Benson Hotel . “There are about 20 big vehicles and lots of people in nice shoes and really dark glasses,” Lien told WW. Later that day a few production peeps (alas no Phil Keoghan) who came in to his shop looking for fresh underpants confirmed Amazing’s
PDX presence for Lien. A quick web search also confirms that filming
for the TV show is scheduled to take place sometime in May.
Benson Hotel:
While fan forums were at first dismissive of the notion that The Amazing Race 13 was in town,
it looks, at least from the blogs, that Portland, Ore. is not only on
the itinerary, but is THE FINAL DESTINATION. And better yet, it's all
going down at O'Bryant Square, aka Paranoid Park, the inspiration for Gus Van Sant's poetic film about punky, Portland skaters.
The bolded location might probably be the Finish Line.
Here are some pictures of Paranoid Park:
But there is another allegedly final pit stop in the comments below:
The final location was the Pittock Mansion! Driving up Burnside late
today I spotted the support rigs (WRP) they were all going up to the
mansion. The security was tight. I don't know the winner of the one
million dollars, but the City of Portland will garner much more as will
the rest of the state. What a fantastic sunny day to shoot the last of
TAR 13! Congratulations to Portland! Thank you AR for selecting our
city.
Here are some Pictures of Pittock Mansion:
There is also a sighting of a clue box in VooDoo Donuts store.
There was a clue box right in front of VooDoo donuts, I was there
today. When nobody was close to coming, the producers would cover the
box with a trash bag but when people were nearby, they would uncover
the box and shoo anyone away that was standing near it. It was probably
one of the last clues if the Pittock Mansion was the last stop.
But I think this spoiler is already found. I just like to share since this is my first time to search spoilers because I'm bored.

Thanks.

Wow, this is the biggest spoiler we have so far! Thanks to scharzmoor.
Apparently, a production crew for TAR 13 leaked tons of pictures about the filming of the race in a PICASA ALBUM.
From the album we can see pictures of crew in Brazil, New Zealand, Cambodia, India and Russia.
What will happen to him for leaking the pictures???

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
More blogs found out by Puddin of RFF. This blog tells about the Amazing Race filming in Cambodia.
This is the blog.
I never guessed that as I traveled I would have a chance to dish out some celebrity and TV gossip! But here goes it...
On the first day of exploration of Angkor Wat, Sara and I were at the East entrance, admiring the sculptures, the beauty, the... “Wow!” We heard a woman enter and make an exclamation a bit to loudly, as her comment echoed through the complex. Of course we turned to look.
It only took me a moment to recognize that the woman, dressed in head to toe white linen, with a large straw hat and a huge Prada bag was none other than Meg Ryan. I turned around, pretending not to notice, pretending to look again at whatever I was looking at before. Sara did the same. And then we looked at each other as we pretend pointed to something and mouthed “That was Meg Ryan! Oh my God!”
We didn’t stay long. But as we left through the doorway she entered and was still hovering in, the weirdest thing happened. She must have realized that we recognized her, and so she sort of turned a shoulder to us, pulled her body into herself and peered at us over the rim of her glasses. Perhaps she thought we would take a picture of her or say something to her, but we didn’t.
Actually, if she had acted a bit more normally, i would have told her how much I admire her and how, for years, I had her trademark haircut! But her strange behavior only drew more attention to her, and had we not been sure it was Meg in the beginning, we would have definitely stared at her on the way out, simply because she looked so odd standing there hunkered over. Too bad!
WAIT - THERE’s MORE!!!
On the second to the last day in Siem Reap, Sara and I were enjoying a beer in the bar of our hotel. A bunch of men (lots of cute ones) started gathering, all part of some group. It sounded like they were talking fim and/or TV production and Sara and I were trying to listen in on their conversations. Just then, a big guy with a huge camera came in and so we had to stop him and ask.
He would only tell us that he was working on a documentary and played way to dumb about what the show was or if there was a host (job opportunity for me?) or what channel we could find the program on later. This made me curious because I know that film and TV people love to brag about their work and what their are producing. Him being so secretive made me question the program.
All week, Sara and I saw a special check-in desk for WRP. And onthe last day in Siem Reap, when I was at my computer, I did some research and found the answer - World Race Productions. As Sara and I were waiting to go to to the airport, I asked one of the hotel staff if WRP stood for World Race Productions and got a, “That’s correct.” And as we waited, we saw a WRP van pull up and two people get out with matching red t-shirts.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the Amazing Race was being filmed there. It’s quite a let-down, though to realize that the contestants and crew are put up in 5-star hotels like the Le Meridian in Siem Reap. Very disappointing!
Cheers,
Shanna

Here is a picture of one team doing a challenge at Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia. This is one of the pictures in the picasa album of Matt Reccow, a Program Coordinator for the show.
Betsy has pictures of some of the crews including Bertram Van Munster in her Multiply account.
This is the mother-son tandem. Now, we know that this pair went far in the competition.

As for your questions, it's a bit hard to remember (as I'm not as obsessed by details as you guys are!) but we are rather certain we saw the Amazing Race on May 28th in La Paz. They were in Plaza Abaroa (sometime called Plaza Avaroa), in the neighborhood of Sopocachi. From our apartment, we also noticed a lot of commotions and big tv lighting in the parc of the Monticulo, near Plaza Espana. I am like 80% sure the sign said U-Turn but as soon as I shouted "Oh my god it's the Amazing Race" some of the workers covered the sign. I know it wasn't one of those thing where you can put the picture of another team. So just a big yellow sign with the flag beneath it. What else... The bikes were similar to the ones on the picture you sent but less shabby looking. And they were next to wooden head gear with lots of feathers on it. I didn't see any teams. Oh, but also, there were lots of brass bands typical of Bolivia. I'm not sure why they were there. But there was more than one band, that's what caught our attention first because we thought there would be a parade.
I'm afraid that's it! Hope this helps your curiosity! Sorry there were no pictures taken.
This is puddin's wooden bike photo georgiapeach sent...
Credits to Peach. Thanks Peach.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
This is taken from RFF.
TAR 13 went to Fortaleza, a city in Brazil, after Salvador. One of the tasks involved looking for a painter whom they will recieve their next clue after reading their next destination painted in Portuguese in a wall. That said painter wrote to RFF about this.
Thanks to the team of RFF who are doing a great job.

Hi, I'm Nivaldo I'm a painter, I was hired to take part and do to something in amazing race 13.
It was in Fortaleza City Ceará state Brazil.
I really liked to participate in the reality show. I knew Phil and his team and I helped him too because it was raining so much.
I participate as a painter and gave one envelope to each team. You will know that I'm not lying.
You will see my blue uniform.
I painted the letters on the wall because the challenge was to read it all in Portuguese and find the key phrase.
The key phrase was: Cidade Da Crianca (it’s a place in Fortaleza downtown like a big square where the teams need to take a taxi and run to that place to do another challenge, but before they needed to tell me the key and I gave them the envelope.
I’m having difficulty explaining all the details because I’m just learning English and am not good, excuse my mistakes.
I took the picture on April 23rd but they filmed on April 25 in the morning and finished about 2:00pm because I needed to paint it 2 days before and paid me to participate in the filming too.
I never heard of Amazing Race before and they tried to do everything in secret, but during the filming I dressed in a blue painter uniform with some brushes and the teams arrived in a taxi, took the envelope in a red box, I don’t remember what they called that, and they need to find the painter (me) and one of the couple needed to stay beside me and the other run and read all the phases to find the key, he or she ran to tell me the key. That place is located in Metropolitan area of Fortaleza City in a place called “Iparana” Caucaia city near Forrtaleza the capital of Ceara state.
A farm called “Parque De Vaquejada A Ze Gerardo”, the place where they do rodeos but, they filmed outside this place, not inside.
I’m trying to remember all the details …I recall 10 teams.
You can see a picture
I took the picture exactly in the place with this guy called Mike and he worked on the Amazing Race team. You can see the date too.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
I am bringing these pictures here from RFF. Someone named Alicia saw the teams at Delhi Airport and sent these photos to Puddin. (Puddin, I hope you don't mind me posting the pics here. Thanks in advance.)
The second picture shows us one of the Jewish guy in yellow bandana.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
Here are additional infos from Nivaldo, the painter who handed the clue to 10 teams in Fortaleza, Brazil.
All these are provided to us by RFF. You can take a look at their site HERE for more detailed spoiling. lol
Nivaldo e-mailed Puddin back with his answers to her questions.
And below are some of the pictures Nivaldo sent to Puddin. It is posted at RFF but I am only attaching some of them.
The filming was taken outside the farm of Vaquejada do Parque Zé Gerardo Arruda

Nivaldo e-mailed Puddin back with his answers to her questions.
Puddin: Can you recall if the teams were bunched or did they come 1 team at a time?
Nivaldo: one team at a time, but some teams had hard job to find the key and were bunched.
Puddin:Can you recall which make of team was first? Which make of team was last?
Nivaldo: I remember the first and the last. The first was an old couple and the last was a brown married couple and they had a hard job to find it, the woman waited beside me and the man was looking for the key. I thought he would give up.
Puddin: Did the teams have a hard time with the phrase? or did any teams speak Portuguese?
Nivaldo: heheh...It was so difficult to understand,,no one spoke Portuguese correct, but I understood...

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
We now have an evidence, I mean a photo, of a leg in Moscow Russia. And believe it, the picture is on the pitstop itself. Someone caught a team checking in near a fountain in All-Russia Exhibition Centre.
I am bringing here once again a great find by Puddin of RFF. Thanks Puddin. You really rock.
It is funny to see the cameraman, microphone man, and the light man in action.
From the picture, you can see the back of the racers (with back packs) fronting Phil (hidden) in a brown jacket, blue jeans and brown shoes. The greeter is the one in military uniform. Does it make sense?

Ronn, I also asked that prior to myself. The only reason I can think is the fact the India is very diverse and chaotic. please don't get me wrong with my choice of the word "chaotic". There are lots of dramas if you are in India especially the traffic.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
Here is an article from TORONTO STAR involving our friends from realityfanforum.
There is also an actual video of the race taken by the reporter who saw the teams in Moscow, Russia. It is also posted at RFF.
The appeal to the emotion by one of the field producers to Robyn apparently did not work. lol
The Amazing Race investigation
A reporter stumbled into the path of a hit reality show. Then, the show's fans found her
Robyn Doolittle
Staff Reporter
There was something about the way the camera crews were just waiting around that told me they weren't from the local Moscow news station.
And then there was the good-looking guy in the tan leather jacket talking in front of the camera. He seemed to be speaking English - unlike the Russian-speaking cameramen. And why was there a second crew 50 metres away, near a grand archway leading into the All-Russia Exhibition Centre?
Then it hit me.
"Guys!" I giddily turned to the seven friends I was travelling with, "I think this is The Amazing Race."
Within an hour or so the leather jacket guy - host Phil Keoghan -and a man dressed up in Soviet garb stationed themselves in front of a giant Lenin statue. Before long, a pair of haggard-looking twentysomethings, weighed down by backpacks, came barrelling through the archway. They were first. Hugs all round. And we were documenting it all.
A frantic producer woman sprinted over. "No cameras! No filming!"
A second was more diplomatic. He used guilt. "From the bottom of my heart, I know I can't delete your pictures or anything, but please, keep what you've seen quiet. Millions of people look forward to this every year."
We said we weren't there for trouble, we were just fans of the show. He seemed relieved and I was content to drop it.
That is, until The Amazing Race found me.
On July 2, several months after my trip, an email arrived with the subject line: Amazing Race. I opened it.
"Hi Robyn! My name is Peach and I am with an Internet group that tracks The Amazing Race. We stumbled across your friend Vanessa's picture of the race and Phil! In Moscow and are thrilled to bits ... perhaps you could answer some questions for me?"
Whaaaa? I called Vanessa. She'd posted her Russia pics on a Picasa Web album. Were those searchable? We laughed. As a reporter, I spend most of my day stalking people on the Internet for stories, and here, I'd been e-hunted.
They called themselves The Amazing Race detectives. Since 2004, race cycle 5, the TAR detectives - about 15 in total - have mapped out, blow-by-blow, pretty much every stop of the race months before the show airs.
They search web albums and blogs for people like myself, scrutinize promo clips, track down contestants and map out possible flight patterns. Among them: a space engineer, a former travel industry professional who "can pull up flight information at the drop of a hat" and a WWII vet.
One of the forum members is married to a police detective.
"One of the nicest compliments we ever got was when the husband of one of our posters (said) he should give us some of his cold cases for us to work on during the office season," says Peach.
She says her real name is Rose, she works in medicine, hails from Georgia and dreams of being a site scout for the show.
As leads develop, the detectives frantically follow the trail - sometimes until dawn. Pictures. Car types. Licence plates. Local geography and architecture. It's all dissected to the most minute detail. To date, almost all of cycle 13 is mapped out.
The original TAR detective, Puddin, from Pennsylvania, who is "old enough to have teenagers," explained how she found us:
As usual, Puddin was scanning online photo albums, including Picasa. Vanessa captioned one picture "Amazing Race." It showed the back of the contestants and the Soviet soldier. Host Keoghan was hidden. Puddin couldn't find Vanessa online, but she noticed one photo captioned "Robyn and Oleg" (my boyfriend). "The (Ryerson) sweatshirts gave it away," Puddin says. "We googled Robyn, Ryerson University and bingo!" A story I'd written on buying a new condo popped up, with a picture of Oleg and me.
"I compared your photo with Vanessa's and thought for sure I had a match," Puddin says.
I was impressed, but after poking around on the site, I realized this Sherlock Holmes sleuthing was nothing. Not only had they found us, but they were able to deduce what time and day we were there, largely by puddles on the ground.
They were able to discover the location of the finale mat, or finish line, for this upcoming season.
But as true fans, they chose not to reveal the information on their website.
"We were all horrified at the thought that the racers might be besieged by the media, or that the winner might be known before the show even wrapped," says Peach. "It was more important to us at that point to protect the finale of the show than it was to be the first (fan site) to share the news ... We are all in this because we adore the race and the friends and excitement."

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
'Amazing Race' honcho teases new season
Jul 31, 2008, 03:07 PM | by Dan Snierson
With the season 13 debut of CBS’ The Amazing Race looming just around the corner (okay, Sept. 28), exec producer Bertram Van Munster slipped us a few clues about the upcoming globetrot.
• The race takes 23 days, covers nearly 40,000 miles, spans five continents, and features some far-flung locales never before seen on the show, including Angkor Wat, Cambodia and La Paz, Bolivia.
• The youngest team is a tandem of two guys in their early 20s. “They’re made for television,” Van Munster says. “They’re supersmart — and they make terrible mistakes.” A pair of recent divorcees in their late 20s also vie for the million-dollar prize. “They were left with some financial debt, so they really have a motive to run around the world,” he says. And once again, expect a serving of granola — this time with a husband-wife squad of 60-something Oregon hippies. “They’re the real thing,” says Van Munster. “They come right out of the '60s. To a lot of people, it looks almost like they’re from a different planet.”
• As for the challenges, “We’ve really outdone ourselves in the department of outrageousness,” Van Munster declares. “We have a situation in Bolivia where we have the [contestants] go down a cobblestone hill on very, very primitive bikes, and it’s just the most hilarious thing you’ve ever seen in your life. It’s a truly bone-jarring experience.” (Another must-see detour: A by-train-or-by-bus scavenger hunt in Moscow. )
• One familiar thing actually did happen on this race: The producers didn’t predict the winner. Says Van Munster, “We’ve been wrong every time, across the board.”

The five continents are:
1. NORTH AMERICA - USA
2. SOUTH AMERICA - Brazil, Bolivia, Chile?
3. AUSTRALIA or OCEANA - New Zealand
4. ASIA - Cambodia, India, Russia, Kazahstan?
5. EUROPE - Russia -----> Russia is actually Eurasia but politically, it is part of Asia. Germany???
Now, I'm excited with the teams. They sound like interesting.

Re: TAR 13 Spoilers
From the CBS website of the Amazing Race:
They say:
Eleven teams will compete in THE AMAZING RACE 13, traveling over 30,000 miles, spanning five continents, in 23 days, all starting from the world famous Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, site of the 1932 and 1984 Olympics. Phil Keoghan will host.
The 13th installment of THE AMAZING RACE will feature a variety of firsts, including: Teams traveling to a real-life water world where its inhabitants live upon a floating city; first time visits for the Race to locations such as Cambodia and Kazakhstan; and one Team makes an unprecedented mistake on the road that ultimately prohibits them from joining their fellow Racers at the finish line.
The cast also features couples in various stages of their lives - married beekeepers who have been together for years, a married but separated couple who is looking to rebuild their marriage, a newly dating couple who is still getting to know each other and best friends who are comic book aficionados and describe the Race as "the ultimate game on the biggest game board you can imagine.."
THE AMAZING RACE 13 premieres Sunday, Sept. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and audiences can watch full length episodes right here on CBS.com!
_______
Take note of these:
1. The filming was done in 5 continents over 23 days (like TARA)
2. The starting line was Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
3. Teams travelled to a real-life water world where its inhabitants live upon a floating city - THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT THE CAMBODIANS LIVING AT TONLE SAP LAKE.
4. first time visits for the Race to locations such as Cambodia and Kazakhstan - IT SHOULD BE THREE SINCE THEY WENT TO BOLIVIA ALSO
5. one Team makes an unprecedented mistake on the road that ultimately prohibits them from joining their fellow Racers at the finish line - THEY ARE THE JEWISH FRAT BOYS, ANDREW LAPPITT AND DAN HONIG. What mistake? They had accident? Or missed a flight?
